Academic Council

The Academic Council of the University is established by order of the Rector of the university.

The Academic Council of the University may include the rector, vice-rectors, heads of structural divisions, representatives of the teaching staff, student and public organizations of the university.

The Rector is the Chairman of the Academic Council of the University. The Chairman appoints a vice-chairman. In the absence of the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman shall perform his duties.

The composition of the Academic Council of the University is approved by the order of the Rector of the University.

The work of the Academic Council of the University is provided by the Chief Academic Secretary.

Objectives of the Academic Council of the University

- assistance to the further development of the university;

- combining the efforts of the university's management, its teaching staff, administrative and management staff, teaching and support staff and maintenance staff in order to train competitive specialists who meet modern requirements;

- creating the necessary conditions for students and faculty of the University for the successful implementation of professional education programs and the university's development strategy;

- strengthening the material and technical base of the university.

Competence of the Academic Council of the University

- approves the structure of the university;

- introduces amendments and additions to the University's Charter;

- defines the university's development strategy and concept;

- makes proposals on the creation, reorganization and liquidation of structural divisions of the university (laboratories, departments, institutes, faculties, etc.);

- makes decisions on all fundamental issues of the organization of educational, scientific, research, international, financial, administrative and economic activities of the university;

- hears the annual reports of the rector, vice-rectors of the University, deans of faculties and heads of structural divisions of the University on the forms and methods of conducting educational, research, educational, international, informational, financial, economic and administrative activities;

- organizes the control of the financial and economic activities of the university;

- determines the procedure for using extra-budgetary funds, as well as the directions for reinvesting income received through the provision of paid educational services and the sale of manufactured products;

- defines new areas of training for specialists in a multi-level system of higher professional education, terms and forms of training;

- approves curricula for all levels and forms of education;

- reviews and recommends for publication textbooks, teaching aids and educational and methodological developments;

- makes decisions on the transfer of students from a paid department to an educational grant and to study in the form of an internship;

- presents for the award of academic titles of associate professor and professor;

- considers the issues of presenting university staff and creative teams to state and government awards and honorary titles;

- considers other issues of the university's activities that require a collegial solution.
