ON THE EVE OF SCIENCE WORKERS’ DAY, THE SCIENCE DECADE CONCLUDED ITS WORK

Today, the closing ceremony of the Science Decade was held at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University under the theme “Digital Breakthrough in Science: The Era of Artificial Intelligence.” At the large-scale scientific event dedicated to Science Workers’ Day, the results of the ten-day program were summarized and future development directions were outlined. During the event, university staff who contributed to science and education were awarded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the Science Decade held from April 1 to 10 at Abai KazNPU, more than 150 events were organized. These included international scientific conferences, exhibitions of innovative projects and startups, robotics competitions, scientific seminars, subject Olympiads, as well as meetings with leading domestic and international scholars.

Within the framework of the decade, актуal issues of digital technologies and artificial intelligence were discussed, along with new approaches in scientific and educational processes. The events were aimed at developing the scientific potential of young researchers and forming their research culture. In addition, school students from all regions of Kazakhstan participated in the Science Decade, presenting their scientific projects. This initiative helped increase the younger generation’s interest in science and contributed to their professional orientation.

At the closing ceremony, Chairman of the Board – Rector Bolat Tilep delivered a speech, highly appreciating the substantive level of the Science Decade. In his speech, the rector noted that comprehensive work had been carried out within the decade, reflecting the interconnection of science and education, innovation and creativity.

– Today we have gathered to summarize a significant, meaningful, and content-rich decade. The course of the decade was not limited to a set of events but presented systematic work aimed at laying the foundation for the science of the future. Within the decade, exhibitions of scientific projects, educational platforms, startups, and innovative initiatives aimed at strengthening the connection between schools and universities were organized. These are real achievements of a science-oriented young generation. A distinctive feature of this year’s decade was the broad coverage of digitalization and artificial intelligence topics. Meaningful discussions were held in these areas, demonstrating that our university is developing in line with modern requirements,” said Bolat Anapiyauly.

During the decade, scientific conferences and seminars were held in the fields of philology, pedagogy, psychology, arts, sports, and natural sciences. In addition, scientific Olympiads, TED talk format competitions, and scientific intellectual games were organized for young scientists and students.

During this period, laboratory presentations were held in the “Research Lab Day” format, open days of the scientific library were organized, and TOP-time seminars were conducted with the participation of scientists from Germany, the Russian Federation, and China. Experts delivered informative reports on modern research methods, digital technologies, and the application of artificial intelligence in education and science.

At the closing ceremony, university faculty and staff who made significant contributions to the development of science were awarded. For their special contribution to the development of language policy and improvement of the language development field, the badge “For Contribution to the Development of the Native Language” was awarded. Among the recipients were Candidate of Philological Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation Eleonora Kanseitova, and Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Ancient and Medieval History of Kazakhstan Bibigul Abenova.

The honorary diploma “Excellence in Science” of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan was awarded to PhD, Associate Professor Zhazira Bitibaeva and Candidate of Philological Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Language Theory and Teaching Methodology Zharkynai Kokanova.

In addition, the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan was awarded to:
– Candidate of Philological Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Teaching Methodology named after Academician S. Kirabayev Botakoz Tileubekova;
– PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Specialties Madina Karimova;
– Chief Expert Manager of the Scientific Library Tolkyn Sagymbaeva;
– Senior Lecturer of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation Gulnaz Satbay;
– PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Physics Diana Nasirova.

Letters of Appreciation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan were awarded to:
– Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Teaching Methodology named after S. Kirabayev Dariha Satemirova;
– PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Teaching Methods of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics Yerbol Ospanbekov;
– Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor of the Department of General and Applied Psychology Olga Tapalova;
– PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Teaching Methods of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics Bulbul Erzhenbek;
– Candidate of Philological Sciences, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages Gulsim Nurekeshova.
