Today, a special delegation from the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), Germany, arrived at Abai University for an official visit. During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of the international NIE-SCCA-EdSp project, which focuses on the intersection of educational spaces in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

Yertay Sultan, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at Abai University, emphasized the importance of this meeting, noting its alignment with the Science Decade, and expressed confidence in a fruitful partnership between the two universities.

Delegation representative Maximillian Deinlein provided a comprehensive overview of the project's key objectives and expected outcomes. This initiative, led by FAU Professor Anatoliy Rakhkochkine, is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) program. Within the framework of the project, the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and leading pedagogical universities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan will implement joint missions.

The project facilitates exchange visits for students and faculty, study tours, and regular online seminars between the partner universities and FAU. Primary focus is placed on the internationalization of education, school systems, vocational training, and youth work. This project offers students of pedagogical specialties and researchers opportunities to participate in exchange programs, undergo internships in Central Asia or the Caucasus, and join collaborative scientific projects.

Research scholars from Abai University shared their plans for implementing and promoting the international project within Kazakhstan. Specifically, the university aims to strengthen information campaigns, conduct systematic meetings, and promote the project's significance through social media platforms.

The meeting concluded with a brief concert program presented to the foreign guests. The delegation members were introduced to the traditions of Kazakh hospitality. As part of the one-week academic visit, the German delegation plans to visit various higher education institutions, secondary schools, training centers, and preschool facilities. Additionally, participation in cultural and educational activities to explore the city of Almaty is scheduled.
