CLEAN-UP DAY HELD AS PART OF THE “Taza Kazakhstan” CAMPAIGN

A large-scale clean-up day was held at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University as part of the “Taza Kazakhstan” environmental campaign. The event was organized within the framework of implementing the “Taza Kazakhstan” Concept for 2024–2029, approved under the instruction of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This concept identifies the formation of national environmental awareness as a key priority.

About 600 university students actively participated in the clean-up, contributing to the cleanliness of the city. During the event, students were divided into several groups and cleaned the area along T. Ryskulov Street. They collected household waste along the roadside, sorted it into special bags, and also improved the pedestrian zone.

The purpose of the clean-up was to increase environmental responsibility among young people, promote civic engagement, and foster a culture of caring for the environment.

The main goals and directions of the “Taza Kazakhstan” Concept are aimed at developing environmental culture in society. In particular, it seeks to make respect for nature a part of every citizen’s lifestyle and to promote environmentally responsible thinking and behavior. In addition, one of the key priorities is the systematic implementation of environmental education and awareness at all levels—from preschool institutions to higher education. Improving settlements, increasing green spaces, and enhancing environmental quality are also among the primary objectives.

It is worth noting that within the framework of the “Taza Kazakhstan” project, Abai University regularly organizes clean-up events and various activities throughout the year aimed at fostering environmental culture. Students actively participate in cleaning urban areas, planting trees, and taking part in environmental protection initiatives.
