REGULAR MEETING OF THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL HELD

Today, Abai University hosted a regular meeting of the Academic Council. the session focused on evaluating the performance of university staff, approving dissertation topics and supervisors for Master’s and PhD students, and establishing new laboratories. Participants discussed mechanisms for enhancing educational quality and improving the university’s academic and scientific research activities.

The agenda primarily addressed the development of a concept for evaluating the work quality of faculty and staff. Furthermore, a report was presented regarding the approval of research supervisors and dissertation themes for Master’s and doctoral students admitted for the 2025-2026 academic year. Significant emphasis was placed on training scientific personnel and implementing research projects at Abai KazNPU.

One of the most important tasks discussed was the establishment of laboratories based on innovative education and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Projects for opening these labs within the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology and the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics were presented. Enhancing educational quality, implementing innovative teaching technologies, and developing AI-based research infrastructure were identified as key priorities.

The AI Laboratory, aligned with national strategic goals, will enable IT specialists to enhance their skills and utilize practical R&D space for innovative pedagogy. The laboratory aims to launch an interactive chatbot in the Kazakh language, conduct effective analysis of academic processes, meet special educational needs, and automate the scientific achievements and research efforts of the faculty.

During the meeting, the academic community specified the projects and tasks to be implemented in the near future. The work plan focused on integrating international pedagogical practices and advancing AI-based research infrastructure was thoroughly discussed.
