THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE SCIENCE DECADE TOOK PLACE

Today, the Abai University hosted the official opening ceremony of the “Science Decade – 2026.” The event, aimed at strengthening the connection between science and education, provided an opportunity to present innovative projects of young researchers to a wider audience.

The exhibition featured scientific projects by students of Abai University as well as school students from various regions. These included the exhibitions “Scientific Projects and Education,” “School Students’ Scientific Projects on Organic Fertilizer Processing,” “Innovative Projects and Startups Exhibition,” and the scientific and educational showcase “School–University Cooperation in Science and Education: Research Projects of School and University Students.”

The exhibition presented various artificial intelligence-based projects, as well as the Web-AI intelligent information system designed for school students. For example, students from School-Gymnasium No. 9 of the Burabay District in the Akmola Region showcased projects such as collagen derived from horse bones, ice cream made from saumal, a special oak pen designed for left-handed users, and an anti-allergy spray. Meanwhile, university students introduced the first Kazakh-language board game titled “Chemophobia,” aimed at making chemistry learning engaging and accessible.

During the ceremony, the Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University, Bolat Tilep, congratulated the participants on the launch of Science Week and spoke about the university’s ongoing scientific initiatives.
