GRADUATING STUDENTS MET WITH EMPLOYERS

For a future teacher, in addition to academic knowledge, it is crucial to carry oneself confidently in a professional environment and to communicate effectively with employers. To this end, another stage of the "Interview: Prove Yourself to the Employer" project was held, aimed at adapting future educators to the labor market. This session was organized at General Education School No. 19 in Almaty.

As part of the project, 11 graduating students from educational programs in physics, mathematics, history, Kazakh language and literature, and Russian language and literature underwent professional interviews. The participants interviewed with the school leadership, presenting their subject knowledge, their perspectives on teaching, and their emerging pedagogical experience. The school representatives asked various questions focusing on subject mastery, methods of working with students, and their overall pedagogical principles.

The interviews were conducted by Ayimgul Imangalieva, the director of General Education School No. 19. She analyzed the students' self-presentation skills, professional readiness, and communication culture, providing the participants with professional recommendations. According to the school director, this kind of interaction between schools and the university is exemplary, as training qualified specialists is a shared responsibility of both institutions. Therefore, close cooperation between the two parties is of particular importance, paving the way for future teachers to establish themselves professionally and fully demonstrate their capabilities.

Interviews between employers and graduates have been conducted regularly at Abai University since 2019. The project has proven its effectiveness, with student feedback taken into account and results analyzed annually. Many students have successfully secured employment in schools following these professional interviews.

The "Interview: Prove Yourself to the Employer" project is a significant initiative that allows final-year students to meet directly with school leaders, showcase their professional level, and gain practical experience related to their future careers. During the 2025–2026 academic year, the project is being organized in stages across several districts of Almaty. The initial meetings covered the Nauryzbay district, while this current stage continued in the Medeu district. Future events are planned for schools in the Turksib district.
