UNIVERSITY OF ABAI CELEBRATED THE GREAT DAY OF THE PEOPLE

Today, Abai University celebrated the Great Day of the People – the Nauryz holiday – at a very high level, with renewed national spirit, rich content, and profound meaning. Yurts were erected on the stadium of the Mukhtar Auezov University, and amidst songs, music, and poetry, as well as various national sports competitions, fashion shows, fairs, exhibitions, and games, thousands of people participated in this grand festival.

This holiday, which is considered a symbol of renewal and creativity, mercy and unity, is a uniquely auspicious time when day and night equalize, and nature and life are reborn. It is worth noting that the first university of Kazakhstan celebrated the Great Day of the People in a special way this year.

The university staff and students celebrated this holiday in an ethno-village format on a vast open-air stadium. Rows of snowy-white yurts, steaming dishes, and the joy on the faces of people in national costumes turned this area into a grand festive center where ancient Kazakh traditions and modern youthful enthusiasm intertwined. The festive event provided an opportunity to showcase the creative potential of students, promote national traditions and art, and enrich the spiritual wealth of the educational institution.

The curtain of Az-Nauryz was raised with the composition "Méreylí Nauryz – Jáńarý bastauy" (Prosperous Nauryz – The Beginning of Renewal), featuring the "Gákký" dance ensemble and the student theaters "Qaghanat" and "Úrker." The professional skill of the students from the Faculty of Arts immediately captivated the crowd and led the audience into the depths of national mythology and history.

The Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of KazNPU named after Abai, Bolat Tlepp, who solemnly opened the national celebration, delivered heartfelt greetings.

– For Abai University, which has a history of nearly a century and is the cornerstone of Kazakh education, the Nauryz holiday holds a special significance. This is not just the renewal of nature, but the revival of the spirit, the reawakening of noble qualities in a person. We value this holiday as a special period that highlights the unity and harmony of the nation and strengthens faith in the future. Therefore, our team has made it a good tradition to celebrate Nauryz every year in a grand scale, in conjunction with national traditions, – said Bolat Anapıuly.

Following this, the winners of the children's creativity competition "Méreylí Nauryz" among preschoolers aged 4-9, who are children of university employees, were awarded in the nominations of song, dance, and recitation. The hopes of the country taking the stage brought touching joy to the hearts. Additionally, the rector presented awards to the winners of the "Abai Media Awards" media competition, aimed at faculty and students who contributed to increasing the university's prestige in the media space, and presented special diplomas and prizes to the best in front of the nation.

The harmony of national fashion and art was also not overlooked. The fashion show featuring the "Mura" collection by the brand "Gúlnaz Jeksenbek" and the performance of the duo "Áýen – Tribe" once again demonstrated the modern elegance of the Kazakh style. And the melodious songs of Kazakh pop stars – Qudaıbergen Bekísh, Almas Kıshkenbaev, and the group "MuzArt Life" filled the open space with beautiful music and joy.

Another special feature of the holiday was the beginning of the "Altyn Saha" (Golden Ball) week of national sports games. Participants in national sports such as Kazakh kuresi (wrestling), tug-of-war, kettlebell lifting, arm wrestling, and playing with knucklebones tested their strength, agility, endurance, and accuracy.

A demonstration of golden eagles and swift tazy dogs was organized in the square, widely promoting the art of falconry of the Kazakh people. The presence of spirited horses further enhanced the festive atmosphere, highlighting a unique symbol of nomadic culture. The event also featured a remarkable performance by artists in the guise of mighty batyrs. Through the depiction of batyrs in national costumes, the spirit of the warriors who defended the country was celebrated, and the audience was deeply conveyed the values of historical continuity and patriotism.

It is also worth noting that during the Nauruz celebration, "BankCenterCredit" provided financial sponsorship to Abai University, gifting a modern 16-seater minibus of the "JAC Sunray" brand.

In conclusion, this day will be remembered as a celebration of the national spirit that strengthened the unity of Abai University, revived Kazakh customs and traditions in a new light, and allowed for free breathing on a wide open space.
