Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University has once again confirmed its status as one of the world’s leading higher education institutions in the field of teacher education. The university ranked 41st globally in the “Education & Training” category in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, entering the TOP 50.

Abai University is the only university in Kazakhstan to enter the TOP 50 in this field and has become a leader in Central Asia. This result demonstrates the university’s strategic role in developing modern pedagogy and preparing internationally qualified specialists for the new generation.

QS Regional Director Sergey Khristolubov noted that the new subject rankings represent a historic achievement for the higher education system in Central Asia. In particular, Abai University entered the top ten in Asia and became the leader in Central Asia. This result is the highest in the region’s history of participation in QS subject rankings.

A key factor in this success is the university’s high international academic reputation: in this category, the university ranks 9th in the world. Over the past five years, the university has received 410 academic nominations, 67% of which are linked to partnerships with leading universities in the USA, Europe, the UK, Canada, and CIS countries.

The university also received high recognition from the labor market: in the “Employer Reputation” indicator, it ranks 43rd globally, demonstrating the international demand for Abai University graduates.
