THE "SPARTAKIAD-2026" GAMES HAVE TAKEN PLACE

Today, Abai University hosted the "Spartakiad – 2026" sports games among the faculty and administrative staff, identifying the strongest competitors within the university community. This intense athletic competition was organized with the aim of strengthening unity and solidarity among the staff.

The main goal of the event, held as part of the Head of State's "Taza Qazaqstan" (Clean Kazakhstan) campaign, is to promote a healthy lifestyle and foster fair competition among colleagues working together, as well as to build a culture of collective responsibility. During the opening ceremony, Bolat Tlep, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Abai KazNPU, wished the participants success, emphasizing the special value of health and labor, and noting that sports serve as a vital tool for strengthening the collective spirit.

The traditional Spartakiad, held at the sports complex, included disciplines such as tug-of-war, volleyball, chess, and table tennis. In the tug-of-war competition, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography took first place, followed by the Rectorate and the Faculty of Physical Education and Initial Military Training. In the chess tournament, the Rectorate team emerged victorious, while the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute secured second place and the Faculty of History and Law took third.

In table tennis, the Faculty of Physical Education and Initial Military Training won first place, with the Rectorate coming in second and the Faculty of Philology taking third. As for the highly exciting volleyball matches, the Faculty of History and Law claimed first place, the Rectorate team took second, and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography finished third.

In the overall team standings, the Rectorate team won the traveling trophy and secured first place. Second place in this competitive Spartakiad was shared by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography and the Faculty of Physical Education and Initial Military Training, while the Faculty of History and Law was awarded third place.

Additionally, the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics received the "Best Aspiration" nomination, while the "Active Participant" awards went to the Faculty of Philology, the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute, the Faculty of World Languages, and the Faculty of Arts. The "Best Referee" title was awarded to Adelina Suleimenova. At the conclusion of the Spartakiad, all participants were presented with letters of appreciation, special diplomas, and valuable prizes on behalf of the Chairman of the Board – Rector of the university.
