The Best Open Lesson of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology within the Framework of MethodFest “One Day – One Faculty”
At Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, within the framework of the methodological Open Day in the format of MethodFest “One Day – One Faculty,” an open seminar lesson on the subject “Personality Psychology” was conducted for 2nd-year students of the 6B01101 – Pedagogy and Psychology educational program. The seminar was organized by Senior Lecturer, Master Zh. Isayeva of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology.
The seminar topic — “Carl Jung: Analytical Theory of Personality” — was organized in a film-interactive format titled “Journey into the World of the Scientist.” The main objective of the lesson was to ensure a deep understanding of the basic concepts of Carl Gustav Jung’s analytical psychology theory, to analyze personality structure from a scientific-theoretical perspective, and to explain it through specific examples.
During the seminar, students not only studied Jung’s theory at the theoretical level but also interpreted it through film characters. As an innovative method, artificial intelligence tools were used, and the scientist’s conceptual ideas were presented in an interactive format.
In the practical part, students were divided into three groups, each assigned a specific analytical format and artistic work:
· Group 1 — “Jung’s Office” role-play format (film: Cruella);
· Group 2 — “Intellectual Court” format (film: Harry Potter);
· Group 3 — “Freeze-frame Analysis” method (film: The Lion King).
Each group analyzed Jung’s key categories such as “persona,” “shadow,” “archetype,” “ego,” and “collective unconscious” based on the actions and behavior of film characters, integrating theoretical knowledge with practice.
At the consolidation stage, students summarized their theoretical knowledge through test tasks and conducted reflection. The open seminar was distinguished by the effective integration of modern pedagogical technologies, interactive methods, and digital tools.
The event became a meaningful methodological platform aimed at developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and a culture of scientific reasoning among future teacher-psychologists.
