At Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, the project “Interview: Prove Yourself to the Employer” is being implemented to develop students’ employment skills. The project was first launched in 2018 and has become an important initiative aimed at improving the quality of graduates’ preparation for the labor market.

 The latest event of the project was held with the support of the Education Department of Nauryzbay District of Almaty at School-Gymnasium No. 208. Sixteen graduating students from all faculties of the university took part and went through job interviews with employers in their respective specialties.

 This year, interviews were conducted by the principals of School-Gymnasium No. 208 and School No. 221 “Keleshek.” During the interviews, employers analyzed common mistakes and shortcomings, provided feedback, and discussed the skills required in today’s labor market. The professional competencies of future teachers received positive evaluations.

 – Today’s interview with the school principals was successful. It turned out to be easier than we expected. I felt like a future professional and understood how to secure employment. Employers reviewed our resumes and paid attention to the experience we have gained so far. This significantly contributed to enhancing our professionalism, – said graduate Ainur Taskynkyzy.

 It is worth noting that Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University is a leading higher education institution in Kazakhstan’s education sector. Over nearly a century, it has trained more than 250,000 specialists. The employment rate of its graduates reaches 95%. This year, more than 3,000 students will complete their bachelor’s degrees. The project “Interview: Prove Yourself to the Employer” annually contributes to graduate employment and will continue in the future.
