DOUBLE DEGREES AWARDED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH A FRENCH UNIVERSITY
Today, a ceremonial awarding of diplomas was held at Abai University for graduates who completed the joint double-degree program in Economics, implemented in partnership with University of Poitiers (France).
The ceremony was attended by the Consul General of France in Almaty, Maxime Gerenge, Professor Philippe Rojon of the University of Poitiers, university leadership, and students.
The implementation of the joint educational program with the University of Poitiers clearly demonstrates our university’s openness to international academic cooperation. Opening the ceremony, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Banu Narbekova proudly emphasized in her congratulatory speech that Abai University places special attention on partnerships with foreign higher education institutions.
The Consul General of the French Republic in Almaty, Maxime Gerenge, highlighted that cooperation in education forms a solid foundation for long-term humanitarian and scientific collaboration between Kazakhstan and France. Meanwhile, Agnès Busset, Coordinator of Double-Degree Programs at the French Embassy in Kazakhstan, congratulated the graduates and shared advice on overcoming challenges encountered in the program. Professor Philippe Rojon expressed gratitude for the international partnership and ceremoniously awarded diplomas to the graduates.
“This diploma will help me in building my future professional career. Considering the high level of development of the French economy, studying this field in French has provided me with valuable experience. Earning a double degree is not granted to everyone, so this is an especially significant achievement for me,” said Dilnaz Ibragimova, a graduate of the Economics program.
It is worth noting that the University of Poitiers is a strategic partner of Abai University. The long-standing collaboration includes the implementation of double-degree programs, academic exchanges for students and faculty, educational initiatives, and professional development programs. This multi-year partnership contributes to the advancement of joint projects in higher education.
