INSTRUCTIONAL AND METHODOLOGICAL OPEN DAYS ARE TAKING PLACE

At Abai University, the “MethodFest” instructional and methodological Open Days are continuing as part of the “One Day – One Faculty” project. The festival is aimed at presenting modern teaching methods, innovative practices, exchanging experience, and developing the professional skills of students and faculty members.

During the Open Days, the faculties’ scientific and innovative achievements were showcased at a special exhibition, and students demonstrated their laboratory skills. For example, Physics students recorded sound waves using GlobiLab sensors and classical tuning forks, and analyzed their graphical representations. During the experiment, they demonstrated the possibility of modeling complex gravitational processes through determining wave amplitude and frequency using the Universe Sandbox virtual laboratory. The effectiveness of combining real-life and virtual experiments was confirmed.

Students majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science presented innovative projects based on artificial intelligence tools. Within the course “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence,” Master’s-level lecturer Raushan Amangeldykyzy demonstrated practical approaches to applying large language models (LLMs), generative tools, and natural language processing (NLP) methods. Students wrote computer code, understood the differences between models, and achieved tangible results. It was evident that learners not only absorbed information but also effectively applied it in real projects.

The Open Day of the Faculty of Philology stood out for its innovative approaches aimed at deeply exploring the spiritual and cultural sphere. Young literary scholars Dinara Orynbaeva and Nursaule Kylyshbekova presented digital and interactive methods designed to develop students’ creative and research skills. Visual and digital tools were effectively used in literary text analysis as a means of enhancing educational quality. Modern platforms, proprietary resources, gamification elements, and an integrated learning model broaden students’ creative perspectives and contribute to improving the quality of education.

The “MethodFest” instructional and methodological Open Days aim to advance the university’s educational system from both theoretical and scientific-practical perspectives. The event analyzes each faculty’s innovations and new projects within the teaching system, taking into account academic standards and contemporary values.
