“METHODFEST” OPEN HOUSE DAY HELD
Today, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography at Abai Kazakh
National Pedagogical University hosted the educational and methodological open
house event “MethodFest.” The event aimed to showcase the faculty’s
achievements in education and to promote modern teaching methods and innovative
practices.
The festival was attended by Chairman of the Board – Rector Bolat Tilep,
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Banu Narbekova, members of the Board –
vice-rectors, deans, heads of departments, representatives of the Academic
Department and the Educational and Methodological Division, as well as faculty
members.
As part of the event, an exhibition of methodological products and VR
technologies was organized, where participants explored modern teaching
materials, digital platforms, and innovative resources. During the opening
ceremony, the faculty’s methodological mission and key achievements were
presented, and the winners of the “Best University Teacher – 2025” competition
were ceremonially awarded.
In addition, six new educational and research laboratories were
officially opened: two in electrochemistry, as well as laboratories in
analytical chemistry, nanochemistry, chemical technology, and experimental
biology. The newly established laboratories are equipped in accordance with
modern requirements for organizing the educational process and conducting
practical work.
“Today is an important and joyful day for our university, which
integrates education and innovation. Comprehensive work is being carried out to
equip students with modern technologies, professional skills, and creative
thinking. The newly opened laboratories at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and
Geography and the ‘MethodFest’ festival represent an important platform
demonstrating the quality of education and creating opportunities for
experience exchange. I would like to express my gratitude to all participants.
Your enthusiasm is the key to our university’s success,” said Bolat Anapiyauly.
Throughout the festival, open classes and practical sessions conducted
using innovative methods generated particular interest. At the “MethodHub –
Best Practices” platform, lectures and practical classes were held on various
subjects, including Human Anatomy, Electrochemistry, Plant Morphology, Urban
Ecology, Tourism Techniques, and others.
For example, during the practical session titled “Drone Data Processing
Workshop: Orthophoto in Agisoft Metashape, DEM and Mapping in ArcGIS, 3D
Product,” participants examined the requirements for drone imagery and
navigation data, pre-processing verification stages, and the complete data
processing workflow in Agisoft software. Modern approaches to drone data
processing were demonstrated in practice.
Overall, the “MethodFest” educational and methodological open house
clearly demonstrated the faculty’s professional potential, innovative
development, and active role in the modern educational environment, providing
participants with valuable opportunities for experience sharing and mastering
new methodologies.
In the future, the educational and methodological festival, implemented
under the concept “One Day – One Faculty,” will continue at other faculties of
the university.
