Today, a ceremonial awarding of laureates of prizes and state scientific scholarships in the field of higher education and science was held at the House of Science. The contributions of several scholars who have been advancing domestic science were highly recognized. This initiative aims to enhance the potential of teachers and researchers in higher education and to strengthen the role of education and science in society. Among the recipients of national-level awards are scholars from Abai University.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek; the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akylbek Kurishbayev; heads of universities and research institutes; representatives of the intellectual community; leading scientists; and faculty members.

Opening the event, Sayasat Nurbek emphasized the role of higher education and science in the development of the state and outlined upcoming tasks. He also congratulated the best scholars – “the finest among thousands and the swiftest among hundreds” – and wished them great success.

Among those who received awards on stage were several scholars from Abai University. In particular, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor-Researcher Ulzharkyn Abdigapbarova became a recipient of the “State Scientific Scholarship,” while PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Karim Baigutov became the winner of the national competition “Scientific Scholarship for Talented Young Scientists” and was also awarded the “State Scientific Scholarship.”

– This is not only a personal achievement but also a tangible result of support for domestic science. I express my gratitude to the Head of State, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the university leadership for their continuous support and special attention to science and higher education. This trust opens new opportunities for scientific research and places great responsibility on us to serve the country’s development, – said Karim Baigutov.

In addition, seven faculty members who demonstrated excellence in pedagogical mastery in higher education were awarded the title “Best University Teacher – 2025.” Among them are: Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor Bakhadurkhan Abdimanapov; Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Zhazira Mukatayeva; PhD, Head of the Department of Biology Asiya Maimatayeva; PhD, Senior Lecturer Yerlan Isakov; PhD, Head of the Center for Scientometrics and Scientific Publications Sanat Kumarbekuly; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Postdoctoral Researcher Adlet Kariyev; and PhD, Senior Lecturer Nurzhanat Shakirova.

These awards clearly demonstrate the systematic work of Abai University scholars, their scientific potential, and their persistent efforts to integrate education and science.
