TEDx-STYLE SPEAKER SESSION HELD

At Abai University, as part of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, a TEDx-style speaker session titled “Smart Teaching Talks” took place. The event, organized in a unique interactive format, explored ways to apply artificial intelligence in education and discussed avenues for digital transformation.


The main goal of the “Smart Teaching Talks” session was to discuss modern approaches for effectively integrating digitalization and AI technologies into the educational process, facilitate experience sharing, and enhance the digital competencies of education professionals. Experts from the fields of education, business, and technology delivered presentations that were enthusiastically followed by university faculty and students.


The session was opened by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Banu Narbekova, who emphasized the strategic importance of digital transformation in improving education quality. Meirgul Alpysbayeva, National Education Specialist at UNESCO’s Almaty Regional Office, spoke in detail about the ethical principles of using artificial intelligence. According to her, AI tools influence children’s cognitive development, which requires their careful integration into curricula.


Joining online, certified business trainer Anar Sarsenova presented on “AI for Educators: From Chaos to System”, highlighting her international experience and introducing the audience to methods for constructing academic prompt architectures. Following her, Nurken Musabayev, Vice-Rector for Digitalization, spoke on “Artificial Intelligence in Education”, outlining ways AI technologies can be used for automating learning processes, data analysis, and informed decision-making.


Other qualified speakers shared their experiences using AI and virtual laboratories in education and explained how digital tools impact learning quality. The second part of the session, which served as a professional exchange platform for discussing digital transformation in education, included a quiz where participants answered questions related to artificial intelligence.
