SHINHAN BANK KAZAKHSTAN AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS

 

Today, Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan Joint Stock Company awarded incentive scholarships to students of Abai University. The scholarships were granted to 2nd–4th year students majoring in “Teacher of Korean and English Languages.”

 

Since last year, at the initiative of the Chairman of the Management Board of Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan JSC, Cho Yong Eun, scholarships have been awarded to top-performing students. This good tradition continues for the second year in a row. Scholarship recipients were selected from among students with high academic performance and active participation in university public life.

 

The award ceremony for personalized certificates and scholarships was attended by Nariman Jaksikeldenov, Managing Director of Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan JSC, and Aigul Iskakova, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization of the University. Mr. Nariman noted that supporting higher education is an important part of the bank’s social responsibility. Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan places special emphasis on developing educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea, as well as on the professional training of future Korean language teachers.

 

Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization Aigul Toleutaikyzy expressed gratitude to the bank’s management for supporting university students. This initiative inspires young people to achieve new goals and strengthens friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Korea.

 

It is worth noting that in 2021, the educational program “Teacher of Korean and English Languages” was launched at the Faculty of World Languages of Abai University. Currently, 64 students are enrolled in this program. Among them, 10 students have received scholarships from the foreign bank. Each of them was awarded a one-time payment of 100,000 tenge.
