FAMILY AS THE FOUNDATION OF AN HONEST CITIZEN

Within the framework of the unified educational program “Adal Azamat”, Abai University hosted a meaningful educational meeting entitled “Family Values: Tradition, Upbringing, and a Modern Perspective”, bringing together prominent figures from the fields of art and education. The primary aim of the event was to deepen young people’s understanding of the role of the family in society and to promote national values and moral education.

If a family is viewed as a school in itself, its three fundamental pillars are tradition, upbringing, and a modern outlook. Guided by these values, the meeting brought together well-known public figures and cultural leaders, including Aygul Mirazova, Bauyrzhan Zhakyp, Bolat Bokenov, Karakoz Suleimenova, Bolat Abdilmanov, Saule Doszhanova, and other distinguished representatives of the arts. Addressing the university’s students, the guests spoke in depth about the importance of the family institution, child upbringing based on national values, as well as responsibility and mutual respect between spouses.

Drawing on both their professional experience and personal life stories, the speakers emphasized the crucial role of the family in shaping an individual’s character and worldview. They encouraged future educators to rely on Kazakh cultural values in both their professional practice and family life, and to seek the foundations of education in national spiritual traditions.

Addressing her future colleagues, renowned educator and Hero of Labour of Kazakhstan Aygul Mirazova shared heartfelt advice: “There are no rigid rules for becoming a good teacher. To be a good educator and a good parent, one must first have a warm heart. And if you wish to earn respect in society, let your words and intentions be warm as well.”

Bauyrzhan Zhakyp, Executive Secretary of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan and Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper Qazaq Adebieti, recited a deeply moving poem dedicated to his grandmother and donated his books to the Abai University library. Meanwhile, actor Bolat Abdilmanov, who portrays Abai on stage, performed a powerful excerpt from the play “The Mystery of Abai,” offering students a moment of profound spiritual inspiration. In addition, writer Saule Doszhanova, singer Karakoz Suleimenova, and artists of the Alatau Traditional Arts Theatre shared their reflections on family values, further enriching the event.

Throughout the meeting, students came to an important conclusion: the foundation of knowledge, moral education, and professional development begins within the family.
