ISSUES OF THE NEW CONSTITUTION WERE DISCUSSED

Bolat Tilep, Chairman of the Board and Rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, held a meeting with students of the university in an open dialogue format. The main purpose of the meeting, which took place in a warm and open atmosphere, was to explain the provisions of the new Constitution that is being actively discussed in society, to listen to students’ opinions, and to discuss their suggestions and proposals regarding the educational process and university life.

During the informal discussion, students received answers to their questions concerning the new Constitution that has attracted public attention. They also had the opportunity to raise questions related to state educational grants, the quality of academic education, and the infrastructure of the higher education institution. Issues such as accessible internet, creating comfortable conditions for students, and improving the efficiency of the education system were also addressed.

The Chairman of the Board and Rector of Abai KazNPU shared his views on the constitutional reforms taking place in the country. According to him, amendments to the Constitution are a natural process of societal development.

“There is no Constitution that never changes. If we look at global practice, in all countries Constitutions are updated in accordance with the demands of the time. So far, 84 percent of amendments have been introduced and 77 proposals have been considered. This is a large-scale and important effort. According to the President, these changes are equivalent to adopting a new Constitution. For this reason, the text of a new Constitution has been proposed. I believe that a solid legal foundation for the next 30–50 years will be established,” said Bolat Anapiyauly.

At the substantive meeting, along with socio-political changes in the country, priority areas of the university’s development strategy were also discussed. The transformation of pedagogical activity in the era of artificial intelligence and its role in the labor market were highlighted. Rector Bolat Tilep encouraged students to engage in open dialogue, emphasizing the historical significance of the university and the need for continuous renewal.

“A university is a living organism. There are no rigid, unchanging curricula. We must constantly develop and renew ourselves. Half of your time is spent within the walls of this educational institution. Therefore, if you have any concerns or suggestions regarding the educational process and university life, do not hesitate to share them. We organized this meeting precisely to take your proposals into account,” the rector noted.

The meeting was held in an open dialogue format, during which students received comprehensive information about the new Constitution and were given the opportunity to freely express their views to the university leadership.
