FOREIGN SCHOLAR DELIVERS MASTERCLASS LECTURE

Today, Abai University hosted an open lecture for students by Professor Charlene Khan. A scholar from the University of the Witwatersrand in the Republic of South Africa, Professor Khan shared her personal experiences and spoke about turning challenges into opportunities.

The masterclass aimed to encourage young people to take initiative, persevere in the face of difficulties, and remain determined. Its main objective was to demonstrate how the various obstacles encountered throughout life can be transformed into new opportunities. This approach can be particularly valuable for talented and creative students, helping them pave the way towards greater achievements. The lecture also emphasized the importance of learning from international experience while embracing the principle of lifelong learning.

During the lecture, Professor Khan discussed the distinctive features of creative research, the role of art in exploring social issues, and how personal experiences can serve as a foundation for academic inquiry.

Drawing on her life experiences and creative work, the scholar addresses such issues as colonialism, social inequality, racial discrimination, and women's rights. She also highlighted the importance of conveying individual life stories through art, bringing attention to overlooked events and experiences in society, and developing an independent perspective.

The lecture was particularly significant as it encouraged students to view the challenges and obstacles encountered in creative research as sources of new ideas and unexplored opportunities. It also demonstrated that art is not merely a form of creative expression, but an important tool for generating new knowledge, highlighting social issues, and exploring personal experiences.

At the end of the meeting, the speaker engaged in a discussion with the audience and provided insightful answers to their questions. It is worth noting that meetings with international scholars will continue in the future.
