INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MATHEMATICAL MODELING AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE HELD
Today, Abai University hosted an international scientific conference entitled “Inverse Problems, Mathematical Modeling and Artificial Intelligence.” The scientific gathering is being held as part of the World Congress of Scientists in Mechanics and Engineering (WC MSE-2026) to mark the 85th anniversary of Academician Gakhip Ualiyev's birth. The event brought together representatives of the scientific communities of Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and China.
The conference aimed to identify priority areas in mathematical modeling, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, robotics, and engineering sciences. It also sought to discuss current challenges and modern achievements in these fields, while strengthening interdisciplinary and international cooperation.
The theme “Inverse Problems, Mathematical Modeling and Artificial Intelligence” is particularly relevant in the context of digitalizing the modern education system and developing new approaches to mathematics education. These areas contribute to enhancing students’ logical, critical, and analytical thinking skills. The topic also plays a positive role in preparing future teachers to meet the evolving demands of the education sector.
During the conference, Kazakhstani and international scholars delivered research presentations on a wide range of topics, including the application of ultrasonic tomography in geophysics and medicine, cable-driven parallel robots, mathematical epidemiology, and integral equations. Issues related to robotic systems and the identification of mathematical model parameters were also discussed.
The diversity of presentation topics demonstrated the close connection between mathematical research and such fields as medicine, education, engineering, and information technology. In particular, advances in artificial intelligence and mathematical modeling are opening up new opportunities for solving scientific problems and paving the way for improved technological solutions. For instance, Professor Yessen Bidаybekov, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, delivered a presentation entitled “Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence: A Paradigm Shift in Education,” explaining how emerging technologies are transforming the training of a new generation of teachers.
The international scientific conference provides an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among researchers. It also helps strengthen ties between research schools and identify prospects for collaborative studies. As a result, the university's cooperation with the international scientific community is expected to expand, contributing to further development in mathematics, engineering, and artificial intelligence.
The conference continued with scientific sessions in two areas: “Physics, Robotics and Digital Technologies” and “Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Education.”
