Abai University has launched an online course titled "Machine Learning Based on IoT" on the international Coursera platform. The project aims to drive digital transformation and integrate modern technologies into higher education. Developed by the university’s scholars, the course is designed to provide fundamental knowledge and train skilled specialists in the fields of the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

As part of the program, participants will acquire skills in collecting data via IoT devices, integrating machine learning models with hardware platforms for the Internet of Things, and building intelligent STEAM systems and applied solutions for the educational process. The course is intended for students of higher education institutions across the country. Those who successfully complete the program will be awarded a joint certificate from Abai University and the international Coursera platform.

The authors of the course are Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Banu Narbekova, Director of the Department of Educational Program Analysis Nurzhamal Oshanova, university PhD student Kassym Seiduali, and Lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Education Digitalization Aibek Amangeldin. It is worth noting that advisory and technical support during the development phase, adaptation to international standards, and publication on Coursera was provided by Bilim UpSkill.

Previously, Abai University had launched two author online courses on the Coursera platform: "Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence" and "First Steps in Python Programming." Currently, to enhance the qualifications of university faculty, active efforts are underway to master AI technologies through Coursera. This initiative directly contributes to the university's strategic development and impacts faculty Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Coursera is a global platform offering online courses, certification programs, and degree initiatives from the world's leading universities and tech companies. Currently, it features more than 10,000 official courses and educational programs.
