10,000 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE "TAZA QAZAQSTAN" WEEK AT ABAI UNIVERSITY
Abai University concluded its special ecological week held as part of implementing the "Taza Qazaqstan" concept, initiated by the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Over 10,000 student volunteers from the university, including international students, actively participated in the event and contributed to environmental protection.
In his Address to the People of Kazakhstan titled "Key Tasks of Kazakhstan in a New Historical Period," Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted: "Prioritizing the creation of safe, comfortable, and attractive cities must be considered a crucial state task. This requirement fully aligns with the nationwide 'Taza Qazaqstan' concept." Aimed at promoting these vital values, the ecological week strives to foster environmental culture, strengthen patriotism, and raise civic responsibility among the younger generation. It also aimed to unite students around a shared cause, motivating them to stay active in community service and advocate for a healthy lifestyle.
Saltanat Amantaiqyzy, Senior State Inspector of the Ile-Alatau State National Nature Park, attended the closing ceremony and commended the youth for their environmental initiative. University Vice-Rector for Social Development Maksat Zhakau highlighted that the project is grounded in the principles of the New Constitution and is directed toward building a safe, developed, and clean society.
"The 'Taza Qazaqstan' initiative is carried out throughout the year under the leadership of our President. First and foremost, this campaign teaches us to show care for our surroundings and respect nature. The week was organized across all faculties, and students from five faculties gathered today for the closing ceremony. Through such initiatives, students not only gain professional knowledge within the university walls but also build a patriotic stance and a sense of responsibility," said the vice-rector.
Organized in connection with Republic Day, the week-long environmental campaign took place across all university campuses through October 30. Today, students gathered in front of the main university building to clean the areas around several academic blocks, clearing yards of fallen leaves and litter.
It is worth noting that clean-up days (saturday volunteers) and events supporting the "Taza Qazaqstan" campaign at Abai University will not stop here. Efforts aimed at cultivating environmental culture will continue year-round.
