MEETING HELD WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF FRENCH HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Today, Abai University welcomed representatives of French higher education institutions. The meeting focused on developing international cooperation in education between the two countries and strengthening academic ties.

The meeting was attended by Sébastien de Courtois, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of France in the Republic of Kazakhstan; Agnès Bousset, an official representative of the Embassy; and Stéphane Motte, Vice-President for International Policy at the University of Poitiers. The French delegation was welcomed by a team led by Banu Narbekova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Abai University.

The parties discussed ways to develop international partnerships in higher education. Particular attention was paid to expanding academic ties between the two universities and strengthening cooperation in education and research.

Developing international cooperation is one of Abai University’s strategic priorities. The university’s efforts to strengthen ties with foreign higher education institutions help improve the quality of education, facilitate integration into the global academic community, and promote the exchange of best practices. At the end of the meeting, the parties held discussions aimed at the effective implementation of joint projects and took a commemorative group photo.

It should be noted that the University of Poitiers is a strategic partner of Abai University. The two institutions have been implementing a joint educational programme for many years, with a growing number of graduates earning double degrees. Faculty members and academic staff also gain valuable experience through academic exchange programmes and conduct joint research activities.

This partnership is a tangible outcome of many years of close cooperation. Today’s meeting is expected to provide further momentum for the implementation of major joint initiatives in the future.
