Professor Laura Kakimova of the Department of Music Education and Choreography presented a paper entitled “The Music Educator and Artificial Intelligence.” Her presentation examined the accuracy of AI-generated interpretations of musical traditions and the educator’s role in transmitting cultural heritage. Drawing on Kazakh kui, traditional songs and ritual music, she addressed potential distortions of cultural context, the need to verify sources, and the importance of preserving regional and performance traditions.

Particular attention was given to the “AI — Music Educator — Learner” model of interaction. Within this model, the educator provides expert assessment of digital materials, explains the artistic meaning of musical works, and shares practical experience through live performance.

The participation of Faculty of Arts representatives in the seminar supports the exchange of research experience and strengthens international cooperation in arts education and the safeguarding of cultural heritage.
