“CLEAN KAZAKHSTAN” CAMPAIGN TO BRING TOGETHER 10,000 STUDENTS AT ABAI UNIVERSITY

In celebration of Republic Day, Abai University will host the “Clean Kazakhstan” Environmental Week from October 27 to 30, 2026. The large-scale event, organized as part of the nationwide campaign initiated by the Head of State, will bring together 10,000 university students.

The week dedicated to environmental protection, preserving the cleanliness of nature, and fostering environmental awareness aims to strengthen students’ sense of responsibility toward the environment and cultivate a culture of caring for nature and keeping their surroundings clean. Throughout the week, students will take part in landscaping and improving the university buildings and adjacent areas, carrying out clean-up activities, and actively promoting environmental initiatives.

Bringing together 10,000 students around a common goal, this initiative is far more than a simple clean-up campaign. It is designed to serve as an important educational platform that encourages civic engagement among students and fosters a caring attitude toward their hometown and the environment. The Environmental Week also seeks to instill among young people the principles of responsible treatment of nature, maintaining cleanliness in public spaces, and taking responsibility for the environment.

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating:

“Indeed, greening and improving our country is a matter of great national importance. This is not a one-off campaign that begins today and is forgotten tomorrow. This work must be carried out consistently. We must keep our homeland clean. This is a nationwide issue. Kazakhstan must be clean. No one will come to a dirty country as a guest or an investor. Above all, however, it is important for us, the people of Kazakhstan, to ensure that our country is clean and beautiful. This must become a way of life.”

Supporting the President’s initiative, Abai University regards environmental awareness as an integral part of the professional and civic responsibility of future educators. After all, today’s students are tomorrow’s teachers. Therefore, fostering a culture of respect for nature and responsible environmental behavior among them is of great importance.

The “Clean Kazakhstan” Environmental Week will unite 10,000 Abai University students in a shared effort to make cleanliness and care for nature an integral part of everyday life. The active participation of young people is expected to expand the reach of this nationwide initiative and give further momentum to establishing a culture of environmental responsibility throughout society.

The Environmental Week, organized in celebration of Republic Day, will conclude on October 30.
