A
seminar titled “Financial Security in the Digital Space” was held at Abai University,
organized by the Department for Social and Youth Policy. The event focused on
key aspects of financial safety in Kazakhstan, citizen protection in the
digital era, and responsible use of modern online financial tools.
The seminar
featured speakers including Adina Ibraimova, representative of Bank
CenterCredit JSC, Batyrkhan Rasylkhan, officer of the Almaty Police Department,
and Akim Gadilbek, specialist from the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for
Regulation and Development of the Financial Market. They shared their
professional insights and practical recommendations on safeguarding personal
data and finances in the online environment.
During the
session, it was highlighted that as of 2024, the level of financial literacy in
Kazakhstan reached 41.2%. Participants were presented with up-to-date
statistics on the national financial sector: the country currently has 23
second-tier banks, 25 insurance companies, about 750 microfinance organizations
and pawnshops, and 15 brokerage firms.
The discussion
also addressed the growing risks of online fraud, cybercrime, and data
protection. Attendees received practical advice on using digital financial
tools securely and were reminded of the importance of vigilance when performing
online transactions.
This
