Abai University hosted a bilateral international meeting with representatives of G. d'Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara (Italy). The primary objective of the visit was to expand academic and scientific cooperation between the two higher education institutions and pave the way for joint initiatives.

The Italian delegation included Enriquetta Anna Soccio, Representative of the Rector for Student Admissions; Marcello Costantini, Head of the Erasmus+ Programme and INGENIUM Alliance; and Ana Bargan, Coordinator for Erasmus+ KA171 ICM Projects. On behalf of Abai University, the guests were welcomed by Aigul Iskakova, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization; Bayan Sapargaliyeva, Director of the International Cooperation Department; and Ainur Sabitova, Director of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed deepening ties in education and research, expanding academic mobility opportunities, and intensifying international knowledge exchange. Particular emphasis was placed on mutual internships for students and faculty, the enhancement of educational programs, and the development of joint research projects.

In the context of modern globalization, strengthening international connections among universities is becoming a crucial mechanism for enhancing the quality of education. From this perspective, the partnership between Abai University and G. d'Annunzio University will unlock new academic opportunities for students and young researchers.

Special attention at the meeting was given to developing dual-degree programs, designing curricula aligned with international standards, and expanding the scope of joint research. Additionally, effective mechanisms for academic exchange under the Erasmus+ program and participation in international educational projects were reviewed. These initiatives will not only integrate the educational expertise of both universities but also contribute to enhancing the professional and scientific potential of faculty and students.

The parties expressed mutual interest in systematically developing partnerships, exchanging best practices, and implementing joint projects across education, science, and academic exchange.
