Psychological training «Environment without bullying: a culture of mutual support and respect» was held

The Psychological Support Service of Abai KazNPU conducted a psychological training «Environment without bullying: a culture of mutual support and respect» in order to prevent bullying, form mutual respect and increase cohesion among students.

The main goal of the training is to create a culture of bullying prevention among students, strengthen mutual respect and trust, develop favorable relationships within the team and create conditions in which each student feels safe and comfortable. In addition, the event was aimed at improving students' emotional literacy, understanding the feelings and personal boundaries of others, as well as providing mutual support in difficult situations.

During the training, participants learned about the concept of bullying, its main signs and manifestations, as well as how bullying affects a person's emotional state, self-esteem, and social connections. The differences between bullying and ordinary everyday disagreement were explained, and the consequences of such actions as discrimination, ridicule, intentional isolation, and psychological pressure were discussed.

In the practical part, psychological exercises and group tasks based on the active participation of students were organized. The participants completed tasks aimed at developing teamwork skills, joint decision-making, the ability to listen to other people's opinions and show mutual understanding. During the exercises, special attention was paid to the importance of trust, support, and joining forces for a common goal.

The participants were also offered methods for managing emotions in conflict situations, expressing their opinions competently, respecting the position of another person, and peacefully resolving disputes. The importance of the active position of bullying witnesses was emphasized – the need to support the injured party and, if necessary, seek help from appropriate specialists.

One of the key areas of the training was the formation of the feeling among each student that he is an integral part of the overall team. Through the development of cooperation between the participants, the importance of building relationships based on mutual trust, responsibility and respect was shown.

As a result of the training, the students came to understand that bullying prevention is the shared responsibility not of an individual, but of the entire team.

About 60 at-risk students from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography took part in the training.
