ABAI UNIVERSITY STUDENT BECOMES WORLD CUP CHAMPION
Alfiya Sydyk, a first-year student at Abai University, has been crowned
champion at the ITF Taekwondo World Cup. To mark this achievement, Bolat Tilep,
Chairman of the Board and Rector of the university, welcomed the athlete and
congratulated her on her victory. On behalf of the university, he presented her
with a special financial certificate.
During the meeting, Bolat Tilep, Chairman of the Board and Rector of Abai
Kazakh National Pedagogical University, highly praised the student’s
achievement in excelling at an international competition and bringing honour to
her country. He also noted that Alfiya Sydyk’s victory serves as an inspiring
example for other students.
“Winning a world-class competition and representing our country and Abai
University on the international stage is a remarkable achievement. Our
university has produced many champions, and we are always ready to support each
of them. I wish you continued success on the podium, and hope you will continue
to inspire younger generations and serve as a role model for young people. May
you achieve even greater success on the world stage,” said Bolat Tilep.
Alfiya Sydyk, a first-year student enrolled in the Finance educational
programme, has been practising sports since the age of 11. According to her,
becoming a champion at an international competition has been her childhood
dream. The young athlete emphasised that the support of her loved ones and the
university community played a crucial role in her journey to victory.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my loved ones and Abai
University for supporting me throughout my preparation for competitions.
Participating in major tournaments requires both financial and psychological
support, and I have truly felt that support. I will continue to do my utmost to
bring honour to the university,” said the champion.
It is worth noting that the major ITF Taekwondo competition was held in
Turkistan, bringing together athletes from 20 countries around the world. The
ITF and WT styles of taekwondo have distinct competition rules and approaches
to sparring. The WT style became part of the official Olympic programme at the
2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
Alfiya Sydyk’s victory is the result of hard work, dedication and
perseverance. Her success on the international stage demonstrates the potential
of the university’s students and will inspire the younger generation to reach
new heights and pursue their greatest ambitions.
