NURDAULET AKISH VISITS ABAI UNIVERSITY

    Today, Abai University hosted a literary and musical evening titled “The Continuity of Word and Feeling”, dedicated to the creative work of renowned writer, literary scholar, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan, and Abai University graduate Nurdaulet Akish. The meaningful gathering brought together the University’s scholars and students.

    The main purpose of the literary evening was to introduce the younger generation to the creative journey of a writer who has made a significant contribution to the development of Kazakh literature, promote his scholarly and research works, and foster students’ interest in literature. The event opened with a video about Nurdaulet Akish’s life and work. Yer­tai Sultan, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, delivered opening remarks and highlighted the scholar’s contribution to Kazakh literary studies. Nurdaulet Akish was presented with a special Letter of Appreciation from Bolat Tlep, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Abai KazNPU, as well as the “Abai” badge of honour. The award served as a recognition of the writer’s contribution to literary criticism, literary scholarship in Kazakhstan, and the University’s academic and creative potential.

    First-year students of the University prepared special tributes for Nurdaulet Akish. Students of the S. Seifullin Scientific and Creative Centre, whose activities have recently been revived, performed creative pieces and presented a monologue. The sincere wishes of the younger generation and their keen interest in literary creativity enriched the evening’s programme.

    Speaking at the event, Nurdaulet Akish expressed his confidence in young people and said that he placed great hopes in the students. He emphasised that the younger generation’s pursuit of knowledge, science and creativity is important for the future of the country, and wished the students every success. He also expressed his gratitude to the University’s leadership for the honour and respect shown to him.

    One of the most engaging parts of the evening was a discussion of Nurdaulet Akish’s creative work. Ersai Khassenuly, who has been conducting research specifically on the writer’s works, presented a stylistic analysis of his short stories. The researcher focused on their artistic features and distinctive use of language, highlighting the writer’s individual style in the literary process. Zhabal Shoyinbet, Abai scholar and Director of the Hakim Abai Research Centre, shared his personal memories of the writer. Writer Alibek Baibol, who also attended the event, spoke warmly about Nurdaulet Akish and shared his own memories. During the meeting, students asked questions of interest to them and exchanged views in an informal setting.

    Concluding the literary and musical evening, Botakoz Turgambaykyzy, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, expressed appreciation to Nurdaulet Akish for his contribution to the University’s academic and literary events, as well as for his work and civic values. In addition, on behalf of the trade union organisation, Nurdaulet Akish was presented with the “Medetbek Batyr” Medal and honoured with a traditional Kazakh chapan.

    The literary and musical evening “The Continuity of Word and Feeling” not only introduced young people to Nurdaulet Akish’s creative and scholarly journey, but also became a meaningful gathering that strengthened the continuity between the older generation and the younger generation. The event highlighted respect for literature, interest in scholarship, and the spiritual connection between teachers and students.
