“Art Therapy: Exploring Emotions through Creativity and Developing Inner Resources”

On October 6, 2026, at 15:00, the Department of Art Education of the Faculty of Arts at Abai KazNPU held a student development session for first-year students on the topic “Art Therapy: Exploring Emotions through Creativity and Developing Inner Resources.”

The aim of the session was to provide emotional support to students, create an opportunity for them to recognize and freely express their feelings through creative activities, and establish a positive psychological environment.

The main objectives were to develop students’ skills in recognizing and visualizing emotions, increase creative activity, encourage awareness of personal inner resources, and strengthen positive interaction within the group.

The session was conducted in the format of an interactive workshop and master class. Students actively participated in the creative process and completed practical art-therapy exercises.

The workshop included creative activities such as “Color of Emotion,” a neurographic exercise, “Image in a Spot,” and “My Resource.” Students expressed their emotional states through colors, lines, images, and collages.

During the group activities, students listened to each other’s ideas, provided mutual support, and created collaborative artworks. The open and creative atmosphere encouraged active interaction and contributed to a positive emotional environment.

The session concluded with a reflection, during which students shared their impressions and experiences. The event provided an opportunity not only to express creativity but also to better understand emotions, recognize inner resources, and strengthen positive communication skills.
