Professor Maria Teresa Giusti of the “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti–Pescara (Italy) has arrived at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University on a special academic visit. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen scientific and educational ties between Kazakhstan and Italy, advance international cooperation in the social sciences and humanities, and exchange academic and research experience.

Professor Giusti met with the university’s leadership, representatives of the Department of International Cooperation, G.K. Kenzhebayev, Dean of the Faculty of History and Law, and the faculty’s teaching staff. The discussions focused on further developing cooperation in science and education, expanding academic partnerships, and the prospects for joint research and educational projects.

The Italian scholar also became acquainted with the work of the faculty’s research units, including the “Айтылған тарих” Research Laboratory and the international teaching and research laboratory “DHLab: Digital History and Education.”

As part of the academic programme, a round table was held with the participation of the faculty’s teaching staff, doctoral students, and master’s students, and the professor also delivered lectures to students. The meetings and discussions paid particular attention to the study of Kazakhstan’s history within the context of Soviet and European history, contemporary research approaches, and opportunities for academic cooperation.
