At Abai University, the celebrations that began on October 1 in connection with the Day of Higher Education Employees of the Republic of Kazakhstan continued today, October 5, with Teachers’ Day. Future educators paid special tribute to their mentors and created a festive atmosphere across the university. At the entrance to the university, students welcomed faculty members with songs and presented them with specially prepared greeting cards and sweets.
The special initiative, which began in the morning, brought a festive atmosphere to the university. The musical welcome held in the corridors of the main building expressed the students’ respect for their teachers and their gratitude for their dedication and hard work.
As part of the celebration, faculty members were presented with specially prepared greeting cards and sweets. The gifts from students gave teachers and mentors a warm and pleasant start to their special day.
The celebrations continued with a concert programme entitled “Ұстаз – ұлы тұлға” (“A Teacher Is a Great Person”). At the opening of the event, Berikzhan Aitkulovich, Chairman of the University Council of Veterans, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Professor, delivered congratulatory remarks and expressed his appreciation. The concert programme featured vocal and instrumental performances, a poetry composition, dances, a theatrical performance and a choir.
Guided by the principle “Respect for teachers is respect for knowledge,” the students expressed their gratitude to the scholars and educators who provide them with knowledge and guidance. A teacher’s work goes far beyond delivering lectures and lessons; it is an important mission that contributes to the development of students as individuals and helps shape their future.
Abai University is one of the country’s leading higher education institutions with a long-standing tradition of training teachers. That is why special importance is placed here on respecting the teaching profession. Today’s student initiative was a vivid expression of continuity and mutual respect between teachers and students.
