STEAM Festival
On 29 September 2026, M.T. Bekbayeva, a second-year doctoral student in the 8D01301 Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education programme, together with fourth-year students in the 6B01302 Primary Education with Business Innovation programme, organised a STEAM festival for primary school pupils at Secondary School No. 120 named after M. Begalin as part of her teaching practicum.
The event aimed to develop children’s interest in the exact sciences, technical creativity and research through practical and play-based activities.
The festival took pupils on an exciting journey through STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) stations led by facilitators. With their guidance, pupils solved logic problems, carried out scientific experiments, performed science tricks and built models.
The event sought to increase pupils’ and university students’ interest in STEM education, nurture children’s curiosity and demonstrate how science, technology, engineering and mathematics connect with everyday life. At the mathematics and technology stations, pupils applied their knowledge and demonstrated ingenuity while enjoying a range of engaging activities.
At the end of the journey, the children received STEM Festival participation certificates and commemorative gifts.
