Abai University has joined the international project "University Endowment Fund Development in Kazakhstan – UNIFUND." This project is implemented under the European Union’s Erasmus+ program in the field of Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE).

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, European partner universities, and other Kazakhstani higher education institutions alongside Abai University are registered as participants in this international project. L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University serves as the grant holder and project coordinator.

The primary goal of the UNIFUND project is to develop a digital platform for the National Association and university endowment funds (target funds). Furthermore, it works to enhance the financial stability and academic autonomy of higher education in Kazakhstan by establishing a legal framework, providing methodological support, and broadly promoting endowment culture among universities.

Within the scope of the project, the development of a nationwide endowment management system is envisioned. This system will pave the way for Kazakhstani higher education institutions to introduce modern mechanisms for diversifying their funding sources.

Abai University's participation in the UNIFUND project will strengthen the international cooperation of the country's leading pedagogical university. It will undoubtedly offer new opportunities to implement modern mechanisms that ensure the long-term financial sustainability of higher education.

As part of the project, special emphasis will be placed on developing the competencies of Abai University staff in creating and managing endowment funds, introducing modern digital monitoring tools, and expanding the professional network of experts and strategic partners.
