Inspiring Future Primary Education Teachers: A Workshop by Susanne Mayrhofer
As part of international academic cooperation, Austrian educator Susanne Mayrhofer conducted a workshop for first-year master’s students enrolled in the “7M01301 – Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education” programme.
Susanne Mayrhofer is a lecturer at the University College of Teacher Education Tyrol (PHT) in Innsbruck, a qualified primary school teacher, and an educator specialising in special and inclusive education.
During the workshop, the participants explored modern approaches to creative work with primary school pupils:
- storytelling through Kamishibai theatre;
- digital storytelling;
- the PERMA-Teach educational programme;
- the Heartbox method, which supports pupils’ social and emotional development.
Susanne Mayrhofer also delivered a lecture entitled “The Austrian Education System and the Organisation of Education for Pupils with Special Educational Needs.” The lecture focused on inclusive education and pedagogical support for pupils with special educational needs.
The meeting provided the master’s students with an opportunity to learn about international experience and discuss modern approaches to teaching, educating and supporting primary school pupils.
We sincerely thank Susanne Mayrhofer for her informative workshop and lecture, valuable professional experience and inspiring pedagogical ideas!
