NIVERSITY SCHOLARS TO GUIDE SCHOOL STUDENTS
Today, Abai University discussed the implementation of the joint educational project “A Lesson with a Scholar. University Science for School Students.” The project aims to strengthen sustainable cooperation between a secondary education institution and a higher education institution. Going forward, university scholars will conduct research-based, engaging and interactive lessons on relevant topics from the school curriculum.
The meeting was attended by the administration of Al-Farabi Gymnasium School No. 145 under the Almaty City Education Department and the leadership of the Faculty of Philology. The parties discussed the content of the “A Lesson with a Scholar” project and its implementation mechanisms in detail, and approved a plan for delivering research-based interactive lectures for school students. The university scholars’ lessons will be aimed at increasing students’ interest in science and developing their skills in analysing and comparing information, substantiating their opinions, and drawing conclusions.
As part of the project, particular attention will be paid to linking the school subjects of Kazakh Language and Literature with contemporary philological research. Scholars will provide academic guidance to students and encourage them to conduct research in the fields of language and literature. The project will also provide opportunities for university scholars and school teachers to exchange teaching methods and practical experience. It will also contribute to establishing sustainable cooperation through joint lessons, research projects and methodological activities.
The parties signed an agreement to launch the project on 29 September 2026. The university has identified the research scholars who will participate in the project, and preparations for the first lesson have begun. The project is expected to foster the younger generation’s interest in science and take cooperation between the school and the higher education institution to a new level.
