UNIVERSITY DELEGATION MET WITH THE GOVERNOR OF KIRŞEHIR PROVINCE

As part of its visit to Türkiye, a delegation from Abai University met with the Governor of Kırşehir Province, Murat Sefa Demiryürek. During the meeting, the parties discussed further development of cooperation in the field of education, as well as exchanged views on promoting joint double-degree programs and academic mobility initiatives with Kırşehir Ahi Evran University.

At the meeting with the Governor of Kırşehir Province, it was emphasized that the education sector makes a significant contribution to the strong cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye. The participants noted that students studying at higher education institutions in both countries contribute to strengthening shared cultural and academic ties. To date, students from Abai University have been studying at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University במסגרת academic mobility programs. In this regard, discussions were held with the Governor on creating favorable conditions for students from Abai University who will be visiting the university in Kırşehir.

In the era of globalization, strengthening partnerships between educational institutions of the two countries is of particular importance. In this context, the parties discussed issues related to providing students with accommodation, organizing the educational process, and further improving cooperation within academic mobility programs. Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek and representatives of the university expressed their intention to further develop long-term cooperation based on mutual trust.

It is worth noting that, within the framework of cooperation between the two universities, the Abai Research Center was established at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. The Center provides opportunities to promote the Kazakh language and literature, as well as Kazakhstan’s national culture, in the brotherly country and to implement joint research and cultural projects involving scholars and students from both countries. In the future, the two institutions plan to launch a 1+1 double-degree program at the master’s level.

Overall, Abai University has established cooperation with more than 180 higher education institutions abroad. Among them, nearly 50 memoranda have been signed with Turkish universities in the field of education. As part of these partnerships, students of Abai University study at higher education institutions in the brotherly country and exchange academic experience, while faculty members conduct joint research projects. This year, students enrolled in the “Preschool Education and Upbringing” and “Biology” educational programs at Abai University completed academic mobility programs at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. The meeting with the provincial authorities is aimed at giving further impetus to cooperation in this area.
