Today, faculty members of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at Abai University were awarded the L.V. Mardakhaev Medal, named after the prominent scholar-pedagogist and one of the founders of social pedagogy. Ertai Sultan, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of the university, presented the special award in a solemn ceremony, highlighting the dedicated work of the faculty scientists.

Lev Vladimirovich Mardakhaev is a renowned scholar-pedagogist who made a tremendous contribution to the development of social pedagogy. He worked in close collaboration with the academic and teaching staff of Abai KazNPU, co-authoring scientific works with several scholars such as G.A. Abaeva, Sh.Zh. Kolubaeva, and G.A. Muratbaeva. He served as the scientific secretary of the social pedagogy and social work branch of the International Academy of Pedagogical Education Sciences and worked on the editorial board of the principal academic journal Pedagogical Education and Science. In his scientific works, he explored the history and theoretical foundations of social pedagogy, social work, and the basics of professional training for social educators.

Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Anarbek Kozybaiuly, who received the medal, proudly shared that he had conducted research and worked alongside the distinguished scholar.

– For pedagogue-scientists like us who worked alongside Lev Vladimirovich in science and education, this medal is a great honor. It gives us inspiration for future scientific research we will undertake. We will never forget him, – said the professor.

The L.V. Mardakhaev Medal was also awarded to Aigul Iskakova, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization at Abai University, along with 19 professors and instructors. Among them are Galiya Abaeva, Anarbek Kozybai, Ulbossyn Kyakbaeva, Korlan Zhanpeisova, Sholpan Kolubaeva, Alma Ilyasova, Gulnar Muratbaeva, Mirash Suranshieva, Kadisha Shalghynbaeva, Anar Alimbekova, Gulmira Shyrinbaeva, Alma Aitpaeva, Kamil Mardybaev, Nazira Atemkulova, Dariga Azimbaeva, Raziya Karimova, Aigul Akhmetova, Assem Bulshekbaeva, and Roza Bekmagambetova.

In 2010, the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy at Abai University launched the specialty "Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge," establishing close ties with L.V. Mardakhaev starting in 2011. The scholar consulted the department's faculty on pressing issues in the development of social pedagogy and delivered lectures to students. He even participated in the opening of the "Leader" youth organization and served as a member of the committee for defending student projects in social pedagogy. Therefore, the L.V. Mardakhaev Medal is an important recognition for representatives of the scientific school conducting meaningful research in this field.
