International Networking Event on “Teacher Leadership: A New Architecture
of Educational Change” Held at Abai University. An international networking
event on the topic “Teacher Leadership: A New Architecture of Educational
Change” was held at Abai University. The event focused on teacher leadership as
a driving force for strategic change in the education system and explored the
scientific and methodological foundations for developing teachers’ professional
potential. The event was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Anar Alimbekova,
PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Preschool Education and Social
Pedagogy.
The new architecture of a modern education system is directly linked to
teaching approaches, digitalization and artificial intelligence, research, and
the preparation of professionals whose skills are in demand in the labor
market. Therefore, teacher leadership goes beyond teaching itself and
contributes to learners’ personal development, critical thinking, creativity,
and digital literacy.
At the event, scholars and experts in the field of pedagogy delivered
presentations and examined how teachers’ responsibilities and professional
roles are evolving within the new architecture of educational change. In
particular, Botagoz Bermukhambetova, Deputy Director of the National Center for
Higher Education Development, and Maria Yermanova, Director of the Early
Childhood Development Institute, highlighted the importance of teacher
leadership in today’s educational environment.
During the international networking event, Yuen Chi Pun, Associate
Professor at the Education University of Hong Kong, presented programs designed
to develop listening and emergent literacy skills among Cantonese-speaking
students abroad through computer game-based technologies. In addition, Shule
Erciten, PhD, Professor at the Faculty of Education of Hacettepe University,
Türkiye, addressed the topic “Personal and Managerial Qualities of a Modern
Professional Leader.”
Bakhyt Yessenbayeva, psychologist at the Center for Supporting Children in
Need of Special Social Services, spoke on “The Role of International
Internships in Developing the Professional Leadership of Teachers at the Child
Support Center.” Aizhan Doskozhanova, Head of the Department of Social Sciences
at Energo University, shared innovative practices aimed at making the learning
process more engaging and meaningful.
The event was complemented by a festive performance titled “The Future
Begins with Us,” presented by children from Kindergarten No. 187.
The international networking event provided an opportunity to discuss new
directions in educational leadership and expand professional ties within the
academic and pedagogical community. The event was dedicated to the 60th
anniversary of Anar Alimbekova, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of
Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy at Abai University, and was moderated
by Ulbosyn Kiyakbayeva, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor.
In addition, Roza Bekmagambetova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, delivered a presentation dedicated to the anniversary honoree titled “The Age of Wisdom: A Period of Maturity and Outstanding Achievements.” A congratulatory address from Bolat Tilep, Chairman of the Board–Rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, was read out, and Anar Aimoldakyzy was presented with the university’s “For Outstanding Contribution” badge of honor.
