WEEK OF ADAPTATION FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS HAS BEGUN
Today marks the beginning of the adaptation week for
first-year students who have stepped through the threshold of Abai University,
helping them adjust to the new academic year. The first meeting took place at
the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography, attended by representatives of
structures and organizations that actively manage student life. The adaptation
week will continue across all faculties from September 7 to 11.
This adaptation campaign is organized to introduce
applicants from all corners of the country, who chose the leading pedagogical
university, to the history of the institution, the educational process, and
active student life. In this endeavor, providing academic, social, and
psychological support to young people who have opened a new chapter in their
lives is crucial.
The opening meeting of the week was attended by Raiymbek
Pirali, Head of the Youth Affairs Department at Abai University; Serik Bakirov,
Deputy Dean for Educational Work at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and
Geography; as well as members of the student rectorate and the «Qoldau» student dean's
office.
First and foremost, to enhance the legal literacy of the
youth who have arrived in the beautiful city of Almaty and to prevent them from
falling victim to fraudsters, safety rules were explained within the framework
of the «Law and Order» principle. Internal discipline and culture in public
places, academic buildings, and dormitories were also discussed. Student weeks
organized within the university and the work of the disciplinary council did
not go unnoticed.
Additionally, students were advised to prioritize their
studies, gain professional pedagogical experience, and build good relationships
with the faculty and professorial staff. Furthermore, the discussion
highlighted the opportunity for personal development through an active student
life.
It is worth noting that 57 student organizations
currently operate at Abai University, focusing on sports, creative, scientific,
and artistic directions. They welcome active youth into their ranks, helping to
make unforgettable student years both interesting and rewarding. For instance,
the «Alem» and «Bi»
organizations were presented during the meeting, inviting students to join
their ranks.
At the end of the gathering, internal regulations of the university were distributed to the students, emphasizing the need to adopt them as a primary principle moving forward. The university's adaptation week will continue across all faculties from September 7 to 11.
