Today, orientation lectures were held for students who entered Abai University for the first time at the beginning of the new academic year. The events were organized at each faculty, where students were introduced to the history and values of the university, as well as recent developments in the educational process. Faculty leadership and members of the teaching and academic staff also addressed the students, providing guidance and recommendations related to their respective fields of study.

Nearly 6,600 students have chosen Abai University in the new academic year. This includes 5,553 undergraduate students, 839 master’s students, and 204 doctoral students. At the undergraduate level, 2,965 applicants were admitted on the basis of state educational grants, while 1,813 students were enrolled on a tuition-paying basis. In addition, 108 applicants became students of one of the leading pedagogical universities under grants provided by the Akimat of Astana, while five were admitted under grants from the Akimat of Abai Region. Among the first-year students are 443 recipients of the “Altyn Belgi” distinction and 508 graduates awarded certificates of academic excellence. This is a clear indication that the leading pedagogical university remains a choice of high-achieving graduates.

During the orientation lectures, faculty deans and instructors introduced the new students to university life and provided information about important regulations and opportunities available at the university. They also spoke about effective organization of the learning process, proper planning of class schedules, building constructive relationships with instructors, and actively participating in the university’s social and extracurricular life.

First-year students toured the university’s academic buildings and became familiar with lecture halls, laboratories, libraries, and other educational and technical facilities. Specialists addressed key aspects of the adaptation period, including adjusting to a new environment and managing academic workload effectively, and shared practical advice with the students. The young people were also reminded of the importance of assessing their own capabilities, approaching challenges calmly, and seeking professional support when necessary.

During the meetings, students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive the necessary answers from faculty administrators and instructors. The newly enrolled students expressed their appreciation for the informative lectures and the warm welcome they received.
