A MEMORANDUM WAS SIGNED WITH THE NATIONAL CENTRAL MUSEUM

Today, a meeting with the leadership of the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at Abai University. During the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed, and the parties reached an agreement on implementing joint projects and strengthening ties in the cultural and educational sphere.


The National Central Museum not only conducts excursions, but also regularly organizes cultural and educational events in various formats throughout the year. Such seasonal and historically based exhibitions and events, as well as informative lectures, undoubtedly contribute to the effective organization of students’ leisure time. In addition, they are of great importance for broadening students’ horizons, promoting spiritual values, and enhancing personal development and values. In this regard, the parties discussed issues related to the implementation of joint projects, increasing young people’s historical and cultural knowledge, as well as various aspects of conducting research by university faculty and scholars.


The bilateral meeting was attended by Makсат Zhakau, Vice-Rector for Social Development of Abai University, members of the teaching and academic staff, Serzhan Sarov, Director of the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Araily Bakyтkyzy, Deputy Director of the Museum. During the meeting, museum representatives provided detailed information about the institution’s collection of material and exhibition items and also presented its academic publications.


At the end of the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum on bilateral cooperation. Under the agreement, students and faculty members will actively participate in the museum’s activities, while research and cultural-educational projects will be implemented in the future.


It should be noted that the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a unique and one of the oldest institutions known not only in Kazakhstan but throughout Central Asia. Its collection contains nearly 300,000 items of material and spiritual culture. Currently, the museum has six permanent exhibition halls. Visitors have the opportunity to gain comprehensive information about the paleontology of Kazakhstan, its ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary history, as well as its cultural heritage.
