ADMISSION OF INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS AND KANDAS

In the era of increasing globalization, distance is no longer a barrier for young people striving for education. More and more students are crossing borders in pursuit of quality education. In this regard, Abai University one of the leading pedagogical universities in Kazakhstan and Central Asia opens its doors to international applicants and kandas. Educational programs aligned with international standards, along with academic opportunities, create favorable conditions for foreign students to pursue higher education.


Currently, more than 2,000 international students are studying at Abai University. Among them, citizens of Turkmenistan, China, and Uzbekistan predominate. There are also students from Mongolia, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine, France, and the USA. A total of 1,829 students study at the bachelor’s level, 78 at the master’s level, 24 at the doctoral level, and 112 students are enrolled in the Foundation faculty.


For the 2026–2027 academic year, the university accepts applications from international applicants and kandas through several tracks. The first track is admission of international applicants to the fee-based program based on interview results. Applications are accepted from June 20 to August 25.


Applicants must submit the following documents:

Application addressed to the Rector of the University;

Educational certificate with transcript;

Identity document;

Six 3×4 photos;

Medical certificate (form 075/u);

Certificate confirming absence of HIV (AIDS);

Results of creative or specialized exams (if required);

Notarized translation of documents in a foreign language;

Bank statement confirming sufficient funds to cover one year of tuition and living expenses in the Republic of Kazakhstan (including transportation and other costs).


The second track provides kandas applicants with the opportunity to participate in the state grant competition. Applicants with UNT results (minimum threshold 1 point) may participate from July 13 to July 20.

Required documents include:

Copy of ID or passport;

UNT certificate;

Document confirming kandas status;

Copy of school certificate or diploma.


In addition, kandas applicants may apply for fee-based education from June 20 to August 25, with selection conducted through an interview.


For applicants wishing to strengthen their academic preparation before higher education, the Foundation faculty operates. It offers instruction in Kazakh, Russian, and English, as well as in-depth study of subjects relevant to the chosen major. Upon completion, students receive a certificate that allows them to continue their studies at the bachelor’s level. Applications are accepted from July 1 to August 25.

Passport;

Original school certificate;

Transcript of grades;

Medical certificate (form 075);

HIV certificate;

– 6 3×4 photos.
