CREATIVE ENTRANCE EXAMS BEGIN AT ABAI UNIVERSITY
Abai University has officially launched its creative entrance exams as part of the student admission campaign for the 2026–2027 academic year. The university offers 10 groups of educational programs that require creative exams for admission. Candidates are currently testing their creative and professional abilities in the fields of art, sports, and religious studies.
Nationwide, higher education institutions accepted applications from applicants taking creative exams between June 20 and July 7. Two creative exams will be conducted from July 8 to July 13, followed by the application period for the state grant competition from July 13 to July 20. Accordingly, candidates seeking admission to Abai University took their first creative exam today.
Nearly 380 applicants have registered for the creative exams under the educational programs of the Faculty of Arts. They have chosen fields such as music teacher training, art and drafting teacher training, choreography, audiovisual arts and media production, fine arts, fashion design, and cultural and leisure activities. The initial exam evaluates the candidates' creative skills and potential.
The progress of the creative exams is being monitored by members of an external committee. One of the monitors, Sarsengali Bekeshov, an Associate Professor at the UNESCO Chair of the International Educational Corporation, noted that the exams are well-organized and meet all regulatory standards.
"The creative exam is proceeding smoothly and systematically. The exam requirements were explained to all applicants in advance. Particular attention is being paid to ensuring fairness and transparency throughout the process," the expert stated.
Additionally, 330 applicants submitted their documents to the Faculty of Physical Education and Initial Military Training. In the first creative exam, candidates demonstrate their skills in specific sports, while in the second stage, they will fulfill physical fitness standards. Among the applicants to this faculty are 7 Masters of Sports, as well as 15 recipients of the "Altyn Belgi" distinction and honors diplomas.
Notably, in addition to the aforementioned fields, a creative assessment is also being held for the "Religious Studies and Theology" educational program. The number of students who chose this specialty is 60. Today, they tested their knowledge and qualifications during the interview phase. In the second stage, they will participate in an oral exam to answer specially prepared questions.
In general, each creative exam is graded out of 50 points, yielding a combined total of up to 100 points. To ensure transparency and objectivity, the external commission includes experienced specialists, university alumni, and principals of general education schools.
