ABAI UNIVERSITY RESEARCHERS AMONG THE NATION'S LEADING SCIENTISTS

The scientific strength of a university is measured by the quality and impact of its research. Today, Abai University is implementing 100 research projects, while its scholars continue to rank among Kazakhstan's leading researchers. Young scientists at the University have successfully secured competitive research grants and achieved remarkable results in education and science.

The National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan has released the Top 100 Researchers of Kazakhstan ranking based on data from the Web of Science international database covering the period from 2021 to 2025. Several researchers from Abai University's Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics were included in the ranking.

In the Natural Sciences category, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Abdumaulen Suleimenuly ranked 19th, PhD, Professor Zharasbek Baishemirov placed 61st, and PhD, Senior Lecturer Laura Temirbekova ranked 72nd. In the Physical Sciences category, PhD, Associate Professor Venera Zhumabekova was recognized among the country's leading researchers, placing 81st.

In addition, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced the results of the 2026–2028 Young Scientists Grant Funding (KMU) Competition. The program enables early-career researchers to implement their scientific projects and advance their research careers.

Among the winners was PhD Madina Bauyrzhankyzy, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Russian Language and Literature, who received grant funding to carry out her research project.

The winners of the "Zhas Galym" (Young Scientist) grant competition also included PhD Senior Lecturers Adil Nauryzbay and Kulzhamila Boranbek from the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling, as well as PhD Tanat Nurgaziyev, Lead Research Fellow at the Latin Research and Practice Laboratory of the AbaiLabs Research and Innovation Park.

These achievements highlight the growing research capacity of Abai University. Continued state support for young scientists is fostering a new generation of researchers and contributing to the advancement of science in Kazakhstan. Their dedication and innovative research will undoubtedly lay the foundation for future scientific breakthroughs.
