The Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) has published the 2026 General Ranking of Higher Education Institutions. Assessing universities across the country according to levels and fields of specialist training, the ranking is considered one of the key indicators of educational quality and the competitiveness of academic programmes.

According to the ranking results, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University once again demonstrated outstanding performance and confirmed its status as the leading institution in teacher education in Kazakhstan. A total of 27 educational programmes at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels secured first place nationwide in their respective fields.

At the bachelor's level, the Educational Programme in Pedagogy and Psychology ranked first with 3,443 points. In addition, the programmes in Preschool Education and Training, Primary Education Pedagogy and Methodology, Training of Military Education Teachers, Physical Education Teacher Training, Art and Technical Drawing Teacher Training, Chemistry Teacher Training, Russian Language and Literature Teacher Training, and Special Education Teacher Training were recognised as the best in the country. This demonstrates that among all universities offering these programmes, Abai University provides the highest-quality professional training.

Abai University also achieved excellent results in the master's degree ranking. The programmes in Preschool Education and Training, Physical Education Teacher Training, Music Teacher Training, Informatics Teacher Training, Geography Teacher Training, Humanities Teacher Training, Special Education, Philosophy and Ethics, Environment and Geography, and Chemistry all ranked first nationally.

At the doctoral level, the Preschool Education and Training programme was recognised as the best with 6,085 points. Leading positions were also secured by Subject Teacher Training (4,952 points), Military Education Teacher Training (1,327 points), Mathematics Teacher Training (921 points), Geography Teacher Training (5,865 points), History Teacher Training (1,302 points), Russian Language and Literature Teacher Training (1,003 points), Philosophy and Ethics (20,459 points), and Biology (3,753 points).

Abai University also achieved strong results in the institutional ranking by fields of study. In Education Sciences, the university scored 73,353 points at the bachelor's level, 16,629 points in master's programmes, and 34,088 points in doctoral programmes. In the field of Arts and Humanities, the university achieved 20,177 points in master's programmes and 20,459 points in doctoral programmes.

The ranking results once again confirm the high quality of education at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, the strength of its academic and research potential, and the effectiveness of its long-standing experience in training highly qualified professionals.
