One of the most positive developments for Kazakh science is that scholars of Abai University have been included among the country’s most highly cited researchers.

According to data published by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the RK, several scholars from Abai University have been listed among Kazakhstan’s most influential researchers based on citation indicators of scientific publications indexed in the international databases Web of Science and Scopus for the period 2021–2025.

In this ranking, several university scholars have achieved leading positions across different scientific fields. In particular, in the field of Education, Olga Tapalova, Nadezhda Zhienbayeva, and Ulzharqyn Abdigapbarova demonstrated strong results.

In addition, Kulpash Iskakova was included in the ranking in the field of Computer and Information Sciences, while Toktarbay Zhexenbek in Chemical Sciences also emerged among Kazakhstan’s most influential researchers.

This achievement highlights not only the high quality of their research but also the international demand for their scientific output. The citation rate of scientific articles is one of the key indicators used to assess the relevance and practical significance of research.

The ranking prepared by the National Academy of Sciences is based on citation metrics from publications indexed in the international scientific databases Web of Science and Scopus. The list includes 200 researchers from Kazakhstan whose scientific work is highly recognized within the international academic community.
